I’ve just returned from our Annual Lecture and the opening of our Spring Exhibition, where there was glorious sunshine streaming in from the gallery windows to enhance our work on the newly-painted white walls of Bridgwater Arts Centre gallery.

The talk by Ray Balkwill from Exmouth was delightful, amusing and inspiring. Ray conveyed his enthusiasm and love for his favourit estuary scenes and showed us many gorgeous paintings.

We were more selcetive this time with our own works, hanging or displaying 68 2D and 3D pieces, and the effect was harmonious and spacious. We had a gratifying 91 entries to choose from, and we’re grateful to Jenny Graham for her work on the selection. It is a difficult area ( I had 2 rejected!) but I think the exhibition is the better for that process. I’d like to hear your comments, though.
