The Chandos Society is holding the second of three painting days this coming Saturday 19th July.
Watch out! We’re off to paint in Watchet! There are boats, buildings and steam trains – something for everyone!
Continuing their series of ‘en plein air’ days out, Chandos Society of Artists invites all artists and would-be artists to take up the challenge to produce their ‘Picture of Watchet’ As they say, here’s one I painted earlier:
We hope to have a look at member Alison Jacob’s show close by at Contains Art, and there is also the Lynda Cotton gallery: Nick Cotton is going to judge the ‘Best in Show’ for the September exhibition and he’s bringing along a colleague as well!
Don’t forget that if you can’t make this date ( though I hope we have a good turnout) you can work on another occasion and still submit to the exhibition.
Similarly, there’s plenty of time to ‘do’ Bridgwater if you haven’t managed so far.
See you around 10.30 am by the Ancient Mariner: ‘Water, water everywhere, and all the boards did shrink…’ We artists share his anguish!
Meet by the Coleridge Statue overlooking the Marina at 1030 We’ll then go out and about, returning to admire the results at 3.30pm.
Work inspired by the day will be eligible for our Exhibition ‘Come Outside’ in the Bridgwater Arts Centre in September, along with the work based on last month’s Bridgwater Day, and next month’s day at Cheddar on August 16th.
